Saudi Arabia and Ukraine have reached an agreement to enhance defense cooperation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday, reported Xinhua. The visiting Ukrainian president said on social media that a document had been signed between Ukraine's Ministry of Defense and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense, laying the groundwork for future contracts as well as technical and investment cooperation between the two sides. He noted that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise and defense systems, particularly in countering drones and missiles, stressing that cooperation with the kingdom could be mutually beneficial. He added that teams of Ukrainian military experts had been present in the kingdom in recent days, providing initial assessments on ways to enhance air defense capabilities. Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud held a meeting with Zelensky. During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments, particularly the military escalation in the Middle East and the latest developments in the Ukraine crisis.
