PNP: March 26-27 transport strike 'generally peaceful'

MANILA, Philippines — The two-day transport strike held on March 26-27 was “generally peaceful,” with the Philippine National Police (PNP) recording over 1,900 participants joining the protest. The PNP released the statement on Saturday following the transport strike launched by the No to Oil Price Hike Coalition to protest against the oil price hike amid tensions in the Middle East.  For two days, transport groups established strike centers across the country, with the coalition leading a program at Mendiola in Manila on Friday.
