Over the West Bank - Missile fragments streak across skies of Beit Rima amid ongoing regional escalation

"Several missiles can be seen streaking and breaking apart over the skies of Beit Rima, north of Ramallah in the West Bank, on Saturday as escalation in the region continues. The Israeli army announced in a statement that it had detected "missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel", confirming that air defense systems are operating to intercept them. The army also instructed the public to enter a protected area and remain there until further notice. Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Friday the launch of the 83rd and 84th waves of missiles and drones targeting US and Israeli targets in the region. Tensions in the Middle East escalated following joint US and Israeli military operations against Iran on February 28, at a time when diplomatic talks were underway aimed at 'limiting Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.' Tehran responded with strikes targeting Israel and US military sites in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Later, it was announced that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei appointed as his successor. The confrontations also expanded to include Hezbollah in Lebanon, after it announced its involvement in the war in 'revenge' for the Iranian leader, while shipping routes in the region, including the Strait of Hormuz, became vulnerable following its closure. The escalation led to oil prices rising to over $100 per barrel, increasing pressure on global markets and sparking protests in several countries."
