Pink Moon 2026: When and how to catch April’s full moon at its brightest

The Pink Moon is known as the first full moon of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Despite its name, it does not actually appear pink. The label comes from Phlox subulata, or creeping phlox, a bright pink wildflower native to North America that typically blooms in early spring.
