A 13-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in the western German city of Witten, police said on Saturday, adding that the boy's father has been detained as the suspected perpetrator, reported dpa. The boy's mother and his 9-year-old sister were seriously injured, a police spokesman told dpa. He said an argument began inside a residential building before spilling out onto the street, where the boy died despite immediate medical intervention. His sister and mother were treated by emergency doctors at the scene before being transferred to hospital. Police said no further details about the motive were available. A homicide investigation has been launched. The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be brought before a magistrate. The area in front of the building has been cordoned off while the police await a forensic team as part of the investigation.
