Disney to produce live-action spinoff of Cinderella’s stepsisters

Anastasia and Drizella will finally take center stage as Disney announced “Stepsisters,” a live-action film revolving around Cinderella’s cruel stepsisters and their back stories. The spinoff was announced by Deadline in an exclusive report, where Akiva Schaffer is tapped to direct the film. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand will pen the screenplay based on Michael Montemayor’s original script.  Meanwhile, Disney live-action EVP Jessica Virtue and creative executive Cady Stark will oversee the film’s production, while Ali Bell was chosen as the producer.
