Police launch manhunt for gunman after man shot dead near Euston station

Police have launched a manhunt after a young man aged 26 was killed in a shooting near Euston station on Saturday night. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene in Chalton Street following the attack, which occurred at approximately 11pm. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the central London location. Paramedics attempted to save the man's life but were unsuccessful. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim's family has been notified of his death and officers are providing specialist support. The footage revealed that multiple rounds were discharged at the victim as he sat inside a white Nissan Juke. The assailant was recorded cycling to the location before opening fire and then making his escape on the same bicycle. Forensic investigators have been working at the scene, which remains cordoned off. The location is situated close to King's Cross and St Pancras stations, as well as the British Library. Emergency personnel were alerted to the incident after local residents and passersby reported hearing the sound of gunshots. Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is heading the investigation, acknowledged the impact the fatal shooting would have on local people. She issued an urgent appeal for anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact authorities.
