FAISALABAD: Under the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, the divisional administration is committed to improving parks for families and providing sports facilities for youth. An important meeting chaired by Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar decided to speed up measures to green parks, upgrade walking tracks, install swings and provide cricket, football and playgrounds. The Divisional Sports Officer and MD Horticulture Agency briefed the meeting. It was decided that Noorpur Park (Noorpur Colony) would be rehabilitated and sports facilities will also be provided via a Sports Department scheme. Likewise upgrade amenities and develop cricket/football grounds in Crescent Park Sheikhupura road. The meeting was further informed that the facilities would be added in Qasim Park (People’s Colony No.2) while Sports department was tasked to provide quality sports facilities in Raja Park (Sharifpura, Satiana Road). The horticulture work and sports amenities would be enhanced in Lalazar Park (Chen One road).The Plant Miyawaki forest along with rehabilitation of Peeghanwali ground Peoples Colony No 1 and Plan for established international-standard basketball court in Sports Arena Sammundri road. The meeting was informed that 7-acre equipped park to be established in FDA City and Punjab Government being approached for funds. Commissioner issued necessary instructions to the concerned. DG FDA Muhammad Asif Choudary, Additional Commissioner Coordination Tanvir Murtaza, Director Development Asif Chauhan, CO Municipal Corporation Malik Murtaza, MD Horticulture Dilawar Khan, Divisional Sports Officer Manzar Shah, District Sports Officer Sajida Latif and others attended the meeting.
