MANILA, Philippines – Dangerous heat indices are expected in Metro Manila and at least 54 other areas on Friday, May 22, the state weather bureau said. The heat index, also called the “feels-like” temperature, measures how hot it feels to the human body when humidity is combined with the actual air temperature. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in Metro Manila, the heat index may reach up to 42°C in Quezon City while up to 44°C is expected in Pasay City.
