The National Highways Authority of India has told the National Green Tribunal that it is not liable for compensation for agricultural land damaged by a May 2025 landslide in Shimla. NHAI claims the incident was an 'Act of God' due to heavy rainfall. The authority also questioned the horticulture department's damage assessment for trees.
