"US Secretary of State Marco Rubio referred to Donald Trump's 'disappointment' at 'some of our NATO allies' as he spoke alongside Secretary General Mark Rutte ahead of talks in Sweden on Friday. "The President's views, frankly disappointment at some of our NATO allies and their response to our operations in the Middle East of they're well documented. That will have to be addressed. That won't be solved or addressed today," he said. On Iran's reported talks with Oman about a tolling system in the Strait of Hormuz, Rubio hit back: "They're trying to convince Oman, by the way, to join them in this tolling system in an international waterway." "There is not a country in the world that should accept that. I don't know of a country in the world that's in favour of it except Iran, but there's no country in the world that should accept it," he said. He also added that they were working to oppose it at the UN - 'if the UN still works' - and claimed such a move could be a slippery slope to other nations doing similar: "That's just not acceptable. It can't happen. If that were to happen in the Straits of Hormuz, it will happen in five other places around the world. Why would countries all over the world say, well, we want to do this too?" The US and Iran are reportedly exchanging proposals for a deal through Pakistani mediators. The Strait remains a key flashpoint, after Iran closed it to 'unfriendly' nations, and the US blockaded Iran's ports."
