Minister proposes later school summer holidays

Finland’s education minister has proposed moving school summer holidays two weeks later and adding a new spring break in April, opening a debate that has already exposed divisions inside the government coalition. Education Minister Anders Adlercreutz sent a proposal prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture out for public consultation on Friday, despite the plan not being included in the government programme and lacking political agreement between coalition parties.
