"The national team of Curacao departed this Monday to the United States to begin the final stage of their preparation for their historic debut in the FIFA World Cup, according to the Curacao Football Federation. In the filmed images, the players of the Blue Wave are seen alongside their head coach, Dick Advocaat, who addressed a few words to the press. "One thing you can expect for sure: we will give everything to achieve results," he assured. The coach also mentioned that the team has worked hard over the last two years and that "now we have the time and the opportunity to prove it." The team left the island through the Jet Center of the international airport, with special arrangements that prevented public access and ensured a smooth trip. The departure comes days after the team concluded their preparation with a 4-0 victory over Aruba at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, in front of a full house. With nearly 150,000 inhabitants, the island becomes the smallest nation to compete in a World Cup. The team will be part of Group E and will debut on June 14 against Germany in Houston, before facing Ecuador and Ivory Coast."
