Donald Trump has declared "total victory" over Iran will be achieved within two weeks. In a tele-rally with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, the President declared the war was going to be won "very soon". Mr Graham has been fundraising in an effort to avoid a runoff in Tuesday's GOP Senate primary in South Carolina. Mr Trump said: "We've been a very tough team. And I think we are winning that battle. He added: "It will happen very soon and oil prices will come tumbling down ." The President said Iran was now negotiating, adding the county wanted to make a "very good deal", one where Iran is "willing to give us no nuclear weapon". Despite Iran never having a nuclear weapon, the US President has repeatedly called for Iran to surrender its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, which Mr Trump has dubbed " nuclear dust ". It echoes comments he made in a phone interview with Axios , which detailed his conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said on Monday the deal would "stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and stop enrichment". He added: "It is a phenomenal deal. We are getting everything we wanted ." This, however, is not the first time the President has set out a two-week timeline in relation to conflict in the Middle East. The US would bomb three Iranian nuclear sites days later on June 22 of the same year, with a ceasefire agreed two days later . It's not the first time he has used the time frame when answering questions about international military conflicts either. On April 24, 2025, when asked if he would provide continued military assistance for Ukraine, he said he would have a decision in two weeks. And one month later, the President said he would know in two weeks if Vladimir Putin truly wanted to end the Ukraine war. Mr Graham has attracted a number of primary opponents, some of whom have objected to his stance on the Iran war as one of the most vocal proponents of the conflict in the US Senate. Now allies, the Senator from South Carolina previously called the President a "demagogue" and Mr Trump in turn calling him a "one of the dumbest human beings".
