Books and bags: DepEd launches Visayas distribution in Mandaue City

MANDAUE CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) launched the Visayas leg of its nationwide Storytelling Books Program and Bagong Pilipinas Bags distribution in the Mandaue City Central Elementary School on Tuesday, June 9. The launch formed part of a simultaneous rollout across the country. With the program, DepEd aims to improve literacy among young learners by providing storybooks to encourage reading and strengthen comprehension. Assistant Secretary for Curriculum and Teaching Janir Datukan said that all Kindergarten to Grade 3 learners, or Key Stage 1, will receive school bags with learning materials and storybooks.
