Package Delivery - 16 Online Retailers/Marketplaces Directly Affected

The package tax planned from October 1st will directly affect 16 online retailers and marketplaces according to the Trade Association, including Amazon, Otto, and Temu. The controversial 2-euro package levy is intended for large online retailers with an annual turnover of more than 100 million euros. Indirectly, the levy would also affect 4,000 Austrian retailers who sell via online marketplaces. The mail-order company Otto plans to take legal action and expects a lengthy legal dispute.
