CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City Government’s Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries (DVMF) said the confiscation of meat products is part of its mandate, meant to protect consumers from health risks linked to uninspected meat. During a news forum on Tuesday, June 9, DVMF head Dr. Jessica Maribojoc said that ensuring food safety remains the agency’s priority. “If we’re talking about the confiscation of meat or meat products, it means there is a problem,” Maribojoc said.
