Over 1,500 erring cops sanctioned in first 5 months of 2026 — PNP

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,501 police officers have been sanctioned for violations of law enforcement rules and procedures from January 1 to June 3, 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Tuesday. In a statement, the PNP detailed that, among the 1,501 allegedly erring police officers, 436 were dismissed from the police service; 77 were demoted and 692 were suspended from their posts.
