"Furious UK lawmakers attacked the government for refusing to confirm the immigration status of the Sudanese man under arrest for the shocking 'attempted beheading' of another man on the streets of Belfast last night, in a very heated session of the House of Commons on Tuesday. DUP leader Gavin Robinson told the parliament the suspect was on a five-year visa - and needed to be 'convicted and deported on the first flight out on a one-way ticket'. "Can the Secretary of State confirm the immigration status of the attacker? If, as is reported, the attacker is a foreign national, what steps will the Home Office take?" added Conservative lawmaker Matt Vickers. However, Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland on behalf of the government refused to confirm it: "I anticipate that more information will be made available shortly by the PSNI is the right and proper approach." Shocking footage of the attack went viral on social media, showing the victim being pinned to the ground and repeatedly stabbed - before a bystander intervened with a hurling stick. A Sudanese man in his 30s is in custody, while the victim, in his 40s, suffered 'significant injuries'. Reform UK's Lee Anderson tried again: "Of course, the Secretary of State will know the answer to this question. Did the assailant enter the United Kingdom as an illegal migrant /asylum seeker?" Been added: "Until I am in a position to have that confirmed, I cannot confirm it to the House." According to media reports and the police, huge protests are expected in Belfast and elsewhere tonight. Police claimed it was 'not terror related'. "
