Römerstadt Carnuntum in Lower Austria Celebrates 30th Anniversary

The Roman city of Carnuntum in the Lower Austrian district of Bruck an der Leitha is celebrating its 30th anniversary. It was founded on June 9, 1996, as the "Archaeological Park Carnuntum," as reported in a press release on Tuesday. What was once a loose connection of archaeological landscape, excavation museum, artifact depot, and an open-air museum area has developed into a Roman experience world. So far, a total of around five million visitors have been received.
