As part of its summer Nintendo Direct presentation , Nintendo announced a few exciting updates for Pokemon Pokopia, albeit in a somewhat confusing way. There's a free underwater update coming in August, but in the meantime, you can purchase an Expansion Pass to entitle you to future paid updates. We think . With the underwater expansion, you can teach your Ditto a new Dive ability that will let you go underwater, expand your town there with plants and buildings as usual, and hang out more closely with friendly water-type Pokemon. A disclaimer points out that to learn Dive, you'll need to raise the environment level on Bleak Beach, and you'll need to know both how to jump and have the Surf ability. The expansion pass will include a new town, Bubbly Basin, which also appears to be underwater. That will bring new furniture and new outfits. The expansion pass will go on sale today, and Bubbly Basin will come in August. Then, the expansion pass will add more new features in late 2026, and another new town in 2027.
