Viral beauty chain confirms four new UK store openings including first-ever shops in Scotland

Beauty giant Sephora has confirmed plans to open four new UK stores this summer, including its first-ever locations in Scotland. The popular retailer will launch new shops in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London as part of its continued expansion across Britain. Edinburgh’s St James Quarter will welcome Scotland’s first Sephora store on July 9, while Glasgow’s Silverburn shopping centre will open its branch on August 13. The Scottish launches will give shoppers access to a range of Sephora UK exclusives alongside major beauty brands including Rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, InnBeauty Project, Tower 28 and Half Magic. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say London will also receive two new Sephora locations, although both stores will introduce a different retail format from the company’s traditional outlets. A boutique-style concept store will open on Carnaby Street on July 23 before a second launch at Old Spitalfields Market on July 30. The retailer said the new London locations will offer a smaller and more compact shopping experience designed around customer habits and convenience. Sephora said feedback from shoppers helped shape the concept following the success of its existing stores in Stratford and Shepherd’s Bush. The company said the aim was to create a premium beauty experience that could fit more easily into customers’ everyday routines. Sarah Boyd, managing director of Sephora UK, said: "This summer marks a major milestone in Sephora UK's journey as we continue to bring our unique beauty experience to more communities across the country. "We're incredibly excited to be opening our first stores in Scotland, giving beauty lovers access to some of the world's most sought-after brands and exclusive products for the very first time." She also outlined the thinking behind the retailer’s new boutique-style London stores. She added that the company’s focus remained on offering customers an inclusive and innovative retail experience whether they were visiting a larger flagship location or shopping while on the move. Sephora first entered the UK market in 2022 after acquiring the Feelunique website the previous year. The retailer currently operates 14 stores across Britain and plans to expand to 20 locations by the end of 2026. Previous store launches have attracted significant crowds from shoppers eager to visit the retailer’s new locations. Hundreds of customers attended the opening of Sephora’s Manchester Arndale store last summer, with some shoppers reportedly camping outside overnight before the launch. The retailer’s Birmingham Bullring opening also drew long queues, with customers waiting for several hours before doors opened. The latest expansion comes as Sephora continues to strengthen its presence across the UK high street following growing demand from British beauty shoppers.
