Whether HelloFresh is "winning the internet" or being "sick and twisted" is a matter of perspective, but there's no denying the brand's official Instagram account is getting seen. Happy Pride.” So far, that post has received 107,000 likes, more than 5,000 comments, and more than 2,000 reposts. The meal kit delivery company has 626,000 followers . One of them suggested in a comment that HelloFresh provide a discount code; the social media team running the company's official account was all too happy to oblige, noting "the comments cooked." "Use code BOTTOMSUP for a Pride Month discount you ask we deliver. Literally.” See on Instagram Among those cheering on the sex-positive post is RuPaul's Drag Race favorite Plasma, who commented: “Girl it’s THEE month for eating.” Out gay actor Jason Caceres wrote, "This…is…allyship." A trans woman added, "“As a doll, I approve of this message." Denver podcaster and former TV host Tory Shulman, who is straight, wrote: "I’m obsessed with this whole campaign. Bravo to have the balls to stand up for the LGBTQ community!" And then there are those who say the post "disgusted" them, like anti-LGBTQ+ and dog-obsessed "Pawsitively Conservative" right-wing Instagram user Lacey Lynn , who at the start of Pride posted that "Our pride flag is Red, White, and Blue!" On Monday, she shared the original post, writing: " @hellofresh you have just disgusted millions of people. Congratulations!" See on Instagram And then there's out lesbian anti-transgender activist Ani O'Brien of New Zealand, who doesn't believe lesbian Muslims exist. She denounced the post as "regressive and distasteful," saying it reinforces a stereotype that gay men are "dirty, promiscuous and defined entirely by sex." "As a lesbian, I am so tired of this nonsense. I am tired of corporate Pride and activist Pride," O'Brien wrote on X, and blamed trans and queer members of the LGBTQ+ community for pushing HelloFresh and other corporations toward a "fetish convention." "Somewhere along the way after the TQ+ hijacked our movement, Pride stopped being about acceptance and started being about performance," O'Brien said in her post on X. "A small but influential group of activists have convinced themselves that being as shocking, vulgar and sexually explicit as possible is somehow brave and intrinsically 'queer.'..The result is campaigns like this one and somehow people are shocked when there is backlash against us all." Other less-famous people on the internet are now calling for a boycott of HelloFresh, canceling their subscriptions and sharing their disapproval with the world: "I was getting ready to start my deliveries again. Well, that will not be happening." Another wrote, "Couldn’t cancel fast enough." And then there is this response: "This is beyond disgusting. If you have a HelloFresh subscription, you should absolutely cancel it.”
