This Pixel-exclusive app is being removed

One of the top reasons to use a Pixel phone is all the exclusive features Google offers, but one of those is being shut down. The Pixel Studio app is being removed from compatible Pixel phones with the rollout of the latest software version, v2.3. The app launched in 2024 with Pixel 9 phones, allowing users to create images via AI with simple text or voice prompts. I used it to create images of what a possible Google Pixel Ring could look like. It could also manipulate existing images, like those you’ve taken with your phone’s camera. The latest version renders the app completely unusable, but it’s not the end of the world. The feature is now simply part of Gemini, so you can carry on creating images and the like over there. If you open the sunsetted version of Pixel Studio, you’ll see a button saying ‘Open Gemini’. Head there and its Nano Banana feature can do the same job, as well as generating animations, stickers and more. We used it to create the perfect Android phone . And never fear, Pixel users will continue to get Pixel Drops full of exclusive software features.
