MANILA, Philippines — State seismologists lifted the tsunami warning on Monday following a magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao. Earlier, Phivolcs issued a tsunami warning, forecasting waves of more than a meter above the normal tides to occur between 7:37 a.m. and 9:37 a.m. “After the extended two-hour observation period, minor sea level disturbances continued to be recorded; however, these observed wave heights are too small to cause damage,” Phivolcs said in its advisory.
