U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated the deputy commander of U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) to serve as the deputy commander of U.S. Pacific Air Forces, the Pentagon said Monday. Lt. Gen. David Iverson has been nominated for the new assignment at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, according to the Pentagon. Last month, Trump nominated Maj. Gen. David Shoemaker for promotion to lieutenant general and to serve as USFK deputy commander. The military nomination is subject to Senate confirmation. Since January 2024, Iverson has served in several senior roles in South Korea, including as deputy USFK commander, commander of the Seventh Air Force and commander of the Air Component Command under the South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command.
