Kmart shoppers in Australia have been left amused after spotting an unexpectedly risque detail on a children’s balloon. A customer shared images of a Tyrannosaurus rex foil balloon purchased for her child, revealing a design feature she found somewhat questionable. “Bought this balloon for my daughter’s birthday, and there’s something a little off-putting about the blow hole,” wrote Alita Smith in the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group, which has nearly 150,000 members. A photo of the A$6 ($7) Standing Tyrannosaurus Foil Balloon shows the inflation valve positioned in a place some shoppers considered inappropriate. The post quickly gained traction, attracting more than 4000 likes and prompting other parents to weigh in. Many said the detail appeared too deliberate to be accidental. “Not too often you get an anatomically correct balloon,” one person wrote. “Somebody in that factory was VERY bored. Nicely played,” another said. The offending balloon that got Australia's Kmart mums talking. Photo / Kmart Another admitted she had purchased the same balloon for her son without initially noticing the placement. “That was the first thing my son seen when we got this for his birthday a couple yrs ago. He came out and goes why does it have a doodle mum. we were wetting ourselves. In a house of 5 boys it was the topic of the day,” she said. One person had a quick fix for anyone who had bought the offending dino. “You can use balloon tape and tape it up. I had the same thing with all the sea creature balloons I got for my daughter’s birthday,” they wrote. Commenters started sharing their own examples of balloons with suspiciously placed inflation valves. As more group members posted, some began sharing their own examples, posting photos of similar foil balloons with air valves positioned in equally eyebrow-raising locations. “I had the same with an astronaut. The girl one had the valve on the side,” a group member wrote. “So here’s one of my Spider-Man balloons. I swear the manufacturers do it on purpose!” another said.
