LEGAZPI CITY, Albay— Fifty-five green sea turtle hatchlings were released into the sea on March 20 at Taelan Cove in Talisoy village, Virac town, in the island province of Catanduanes. The activity was led by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in Catanduanes, headed by officer-in-charge Lawyer Vivian D. Escoto, in coordination with the local government of Virac. Escoto said Barangays Talisoy and Magnesia del Sur serve as nesting grounds and critical habitats for marine turtles, including green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles.
