Palace: No 'energy lockdown' seen for now

MANILA, Philippines- The government does not see the need to implement an "energy lockdown" for now, Malacañang said Friday. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the government was looking for sources to ensure a continuous supply of oil for the country. "Right now, the President is really preparing for this, the administration is preparing for this, so we don't want to end up in the worst-case scenario," Castro said during a press conference. "So, that's why now, with the cooperation of all government agencies, especially DOE (Department of Energy) and DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs), we are really looking for sources so that the supply of petroleum will not stop and will continue for our countrymen," she added.
