The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) late on Friday said that 349 Filipinos from the United Arab Emirates returned to the country. Both agencies said that the Filipinos were returned through a government-chartered flight TVR7737. According to OWWA, 222 were overseas Filipino workers, 78 were dependents (along with 11 infants), and the other 49 were stranded Filipinos that were “rescued by the government”. In total, 2,910 OFWs from the Middle East returned to the country, with 2,120 of them coming through the five government-chartered flights.
