"A missile fragment struck a private home near Beit Shemesh, Israel, injuring residents and causing significant damage, as tensions in the region continue to escalate. Footage from the scene shows a large crater near the property, with debris scattered across the area and inside the damaged home. Emergency crews were seen working at the impact site, while parts of the building and nearby vehicles sustained heavy damage from the blast wave. Residents described how the incident unfolded within seconds. A local resident said that after hearing about the impact, relatives rushed to confirm that everyone had made it to safety, noting that 'it all happened in a split second,' and that despite structural vulnerabilities, getting indoors 'basically saved their lives'. The force of the explosion caused widespread destruction beyond the immediate impact point. According to the same resident, although the strike landed roughly 300 metres away, the blast wave “left massive damage—everything is destroyed.” Another resident recounted how a family gathering was abruptly interrupted by incoming alerts. Around thirty people, including children, moved to what they considered the safest area of the house. He described hearing 'several booms and explosions,' with parts of the ceiling collapsing and debris flying through the air, as 'dust everywhere' and panic spread among those inside. Despite the chaos, the group remained unharmed, which he described as a matter of fortune, saying that 'not even a single shard of glass hit us.' The incident comes amid a broader escalation in the region following US and Israeli strikes on Iran launched on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with the conflict now in its fourth week. Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon have also traded cross-border strikes."
