"The ‘Friendship’ and ‘Tigermoth’ catamaran-type vessels, which were transporting around three tonnes of humanitarian aid from Isla Mujeres, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, have docked safely at the port of Havana, Cuba. The ships were located following reports that they had gone missing in the Caribbean Sea, the Mexican Ministry of the Navy reported. Both had departed a week earlier, however contact was lost with them on Thursday. They were finally sighted on Friday 80 nautical miles northeast of Cuba by an aircraft of the Mexican Navy. According to the Ministry of the Navy, the crews were in good health and the delay in their arrival was due to adverse winds. The vessels were escorted by a Mexican Navy ship to ensure their safe arrival in Cuba. The ships found are part of the ‘Nuestra America’ international convoy, with representatives from 11 countries, that sailed in solidarity with Cuba to deliver 50 tonnes of supplies to the island, in response to the crisis caused by the trade and energy blockade imposed by the United States."
