Saudi Arabia Deports 5,111 Illegal Residents In A Week

Saudi security authorities arrested a total of 11,967 illegal residents in a week. The arrests were made in the joint inspections, carried out by the security forces in collaboration with the relevant government agencies, during the period between March 19 and 25, the Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday. Those who were arrested include 7,650 violators of the Residency Law, 2,952 violators of the Border Security Law, and 1,365 violators of the Labour Law. A total of 5,111 illegal residents were deported, while 23,238 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, and 3,416 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations. A total of 1,140 people were arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom, of whom 26 per cent were Yemeni nationals, 71 per cent Ethiopian nationals, and 3 per cent belonged to other nationalities. A total of 42 people were arrested while attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally. Some 17 people involved in giving transportation, shelter, and employment to violators were also arrested.
