"A detachment from Russia’s Pacific Fleet arrived in Jakarta on Sunday as part of a long-range mission in the Asia-Pacific region. Footage shows Indonesian Navy personnel and staff from the Russian embassy welcoming the visiting crew. The group includes the 'Gromky' corvette, the 'Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky' diesel-electric submarine and the 'Andrei Stepanov' tugboat. In a statement, officials said the visit will include joint activities with the Indonesian Navy. "During the working visit, the Russian Navy crew will take part in official events and conferences to exchange experiences with Indonesian Navy personnel, as well as tour the city, visit local attractions and take part in sporting activities with Indonesian servicemen," the statement read. Pacific Fleet commander Viktor Liina said the deployment is intended to "strengthen co-operation and maintain regional stability". The detachment departed from Vladivostok in February and is continuing its extended deployment across the Asia-Pacific."
