A man who allegedly confronted police with an illegal firearm was shot and injured in Portmore, St Catherine on Friday. Reports are that about 3:05 a.m., the owner of a motor car was at home near Edgewater when he heard his vehicle’s alarm. He went outside and reportedly saw a man with a breaking instrument attempting to force entry into the vehicle. The homeowner called out, and the man ran. An alarm was raised, and members of a police team responded. When the officers caught up with the man, he allegedly pointed a handgun in their direction.
