MANILA, Philippines — Budgetary support to government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) fell to its lowest level in nine years in 2025, as the Marcos administration tightened spending amid limited fiscal space. Data from the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) showed that subsidies to GOCCs had declined by 22.9 percent to P106.9 billion in 2025, from P138.7 billion in 2024. Only 39 firms received support.
