Bichette already getting booed in New York and here's what ex-Toronto Blue Jays star said about it

Things have not gone as planned for former Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette in his first three games with the New York Mets. The 28-year-old infielder was among the most sought-after MLB free agents this past offseason, and there was a ton of hype following him to the Mets. He was seen as a key addition to a Mets team that hopes to compete for the World Series, but it's been a rocky start for Bichette in the Big Apple. Just three games into the season, Bichette felt the wrath of his new fanbase, as Mets fans rained boos down on him after striking out against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon. He has just one hit with his new team and has struck out an incredible eight times already. Bichette's batting average is sitting at just .111 with just a single hit in 14 at-bats. "Sometimes in-between, sometimes trying to do too much," Bichette said of his struggles. "That's pretty much what happens when you don't feel good. "I definitely felt that wanting to have a moment, not only for my teammates, but for the fans and everything." The strikeout that drew boos was part of a dismal 0-for-5 outing from Bichette en route to a 4-3 loss to the Pirates. Bichette took the high road after the game, saying he agreed with the fans' displeasure. "If anything, I thought [the booing] took too long," Bichette told reporters. "I get it, I thought my at-bats were terrible, too." Bo Bichette on Mets fans booing him: "If anything, I thought it took too long. I get it. He was among the best hitters in Major League Baseball last season, and it's a good bet he'll be among the very best this year once again. However, a section of the Blue Jays fanbase may be taking a little joy in seeing him struggle while Toronto enjoys a perfect 3-0 start to the season.
