Negev under fire - First responders rush in as Beersheba home damaged by falling Iranian missile fragments

"Several impacts and missile debris falls were reported in Beersheba on Sunday, as Iran launched a series of strikes targeting southern Israel - including a key chemical industrial complex. Footage released by Magen David Adom (MDA) shows emergency medical teams arriving at a house that has been reportedly damaged by falling fragments. This comes as an Iranian missile strike hit the city's Neot Hovav industrial complex on Sunday - a critical hub responsible for roughly half of Israel's chemical production. Emergency services confirmed that one person was lightly injured at the site and treated by medics. Later updates from Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba raised the tally of wounded in the broader area to 11 people. Sirens had sounded across southern Israel in the hours leading up to the strike, including areas near the Dimona nuclear research facility. Tensions have escalated across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, amid diplomatic talks aimed at 'curbing Iran's nuclear and missile programmes'. Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israeli and US assets in the region, accompanied by reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei named as his successor. The conflict spilt over into Lebanon as Hezbollah intervened 'in revenge' for the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader. Shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, were disrupted following its closure."
