CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A new direct sea route linking the town of Pola and Batangas City has begun operations, with additional trips set for early April to meet rising travel demand ahead of the summer season. The ferry service, operated by Island Water, launched its initial trip on March 28, departing Batangas City at 7 a.m. bound for Pola. The route provides a faster and more convenient connection between mainland Luzon and eastern Oriental Mindoro.
