8 bus firms face sanctions over illegal fare hikes

MANILA, Philippines — Eight bus companies are facing possible sanctions after they were found to have illegally implemented a fare increase amid rising fuel prices, authorities said Monday. The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) reported that the bus firms, all operating routes to the Bicol Region, imposed unauthorized fare hikes over the weekend.
