"Families gathered at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday for the Seoul Stroller Run, a family-focused marathon where parents ran while pushing their children in strollers, turning the city centre into a lively, communal track. Footage shows families starting the run with their strollers, as participants move along empty roads and across Mapo Bridge. Later, participants can be seen taking pictures during the run before reaching the finish line. "Children love running, and it’s really special to have a chance to run here at Gwanghwamun Square, such a meaningful place. Being able to run together with so many families makes it a really joyful day," participant Jong Ho Lee said. Another participant, Lee Young Kim, noted that because her child is still very young, it is hard to run together, noting that "it’s really nice that we can participate with a stroller." First-time participant Bum Seok Kim described the opportunity to run alongside his wife and baby felt meaningful and touching. More than 500 personnel, including medical teams, safety staff, and volunteers, were deployed to ensure safety. Ambulances and on-site medical teams were positioned along the route, with backup plans in place for weather or air quality issues. According to local media reports, the event now in its third year drew around 20,000 participants along an 8-kilometre route through downtown Seoul, passing landmarks including Mapo Bridge before finishing near Yeouido Park."
