IRGC launches 86th missile wave of 'Operation True Promise 4' targeting Neot Hovav industrial park near Israel's Beersheba

"The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday the staging of the 86th wave of 'Operation True Promise 4' targeting the Neot Hovav industrial zone in Beersheba, southern Israel. Footage captures the missiles being launched. The exact date and location of footage cannot be independently verified. In a statement, the IRGC said, "Continuing the 86th wave of 'Operation True Promise 4', the Neot Hovav industrial zone in Beersheba, south of occupied territories, using solid- and liquid-fuelled ballistic missiles launched by its aerospace force." The statement indicated that strikes hit Israeli military sites in the Negev, the Northern Command, and government security centres in occupied Jerusalem and Tel Aviv using Iranian ballistic missiles and loitering munitions. According to Israeli media outlets on Sunday, 11 people were injured by shrapnel of an Iranian missile that hit a chemical plant in southern Israel, triggering a blaze and prompting concerns of a hazardous chemicals leak.  The Israeli army has announced that its forces "identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat". Tensions flared in the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation on Iran on February 28, when diplomatic talks were taking place aimed at 'undermining Iran's nuclear and missile programmes'. Tehran then announced retaliatory strikes on Israel and the US assets in the region. Explosions were reported in different Gulf countries. Later, Iran confirmed the killing of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and his son, Mujtaba Khamenei, was selected as his successor. The conflict spilt over into Lebanon as Hezbollah intervened 'in revenge' for the assassination of the Iranian Supreme Leader. The shipment routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, were disrupted following the closure of the Strait. The latest escalation has driven oil prices above 100 USD per barrel, rattling global energy markets and triggering protests in several countries. "
