MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed 59,416 law enforcers for security measures during this year’s observance of Holy Week, an increase from the 55,000 personnel it previously said it would deploy. In a press briefing at Camp Crame on Monday, PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the police force deployed 11,328 officers to places of worship; 8,774 to major thoroughfares; 6,973 to transportation hubs; 6,386 to places of convergence; and 6,079 to commercial areas.
