MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has tightened security measures in Maguindanao del Sur following an ambush in Shariff Aguak town, which killed five cops and injured three more during patrol operations over the weekend. “The internal protocols for field operations are now under strict review to prevent similar tactical lapses.
