"The moment of an alleged Iranian strike on the Bazan oil refinery in northern Israel's Haifa on Monday was captured in dramatic footage. Released footage shows flames and smoke rising over the skyline from the complex, as Iran continues to exchange strikes amid the ongoing conflict. Located in the Haifa Bay area, the Bazan refinery is one of Israel's two operating oil refineries and the country's largest integrated petrochemical complex. According to media reports, an Iranian cluster munition hit five locations in Haifa and on additional streets in neighbouring towns. It remains unclear whether the fire at the refinery was caused by a direct missile hit or by shrapnel from an interception. The development comes after an Iranian missile strike hit the city’s Neot Hovav industrial complex on Sunday, a critical hub responsible for roughly half of Israel’s chemical production. The Bazan refinery is one of Israel's two operating oil refineries and the largest integrated petrochemical complex in the country, boasting a maximum crude oil refining capacity of approximately 197,000 barrels per day, accounting for around 50-60 percent of Israel's domestic refined fuel production."
