"A residential building was partially destroyed in an airstrike in the Al-Rihab area of Beirut’s southern suburbs on Monday. Footage shows smoke pouring out of the damaged building and cars in the surrounding area crushed by falling rubble. According to Lebanese media, the strikes were carried out by 'Israeli warplanes'. Earlier on Monday, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee urged residents of the southern suburbs to evacuate due to continued attacks on Hezbollah 'military infrastructure'. Official figures released on Sunday put the death toll in Lebanon at 1,238, with 3,543 people injured and more than one million displaced. The escalation follows joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran launched on February 28 during diplomatic efforts over Tehran’s nuclear and missile programmes. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory and US assets across the region, with explosions reported in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was succeeded by his son Mojtaba Khamenei. The conflict has since expanded across Lebanon, where Hezbollah has launched attacks on Israel, while global energy markets have been disrupted by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, pushing oil prices above $100 per barrel."
