ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Customs officials/officers working on an attachment basis without intimation or consultation of their parent Customs Collectorates or field formations. In this regard, the FBR has issued instructions to the field formations here on Monday. According to the FBR’s instructions to the field formations, disciplinary proceedings should be initiated in cases of unauthorised absence from duty that are not being reported to the Board promptly by the field formations. All Heads of field formations are hereby directed to adhere to the following instructions: (i) In cases where any officer/official working on an attachment basis is found to be involved in misconduct, warranting disciplinary action, the matter shall immediately bereported to the Board. (ii) All Customs field formations shall ensure that cases of unauthorized absence from duty by officers/officials are reported to the Board promptly. The concerned Assistant Collectors (ACs) and Deputy Collectors (DCs) (HQs) shall be responsible for monitoring attendance and ensuring timely reporting of such cases.
