Teenager attacked at Massey bus stop; police seek information, thank heroic family

A family who helped a high school student allegedly assaulted at a West Auckland bus stop is being thanked by police. Two teenage girls were sitting at a bus stop on Don Buck Rd on Saturday evening when three people pulled up in a car. The pair were waiting for a bus opposite Mamuku Drive when just after 10pm a white Suzuki Swift arrived. Three people got out and two women assaulted one of the girls. An unidentified family then pulled over and told the offending group to leave. The teenage girls were waiting at a bus stop on Don Buck Rd opposite Mamuku Dr, in West Auckland, when one of them was attacked. Photo / Google Maps Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting said Waitematā police have sought the family and would like to thank them. “Police would like to speak to these good Samaritans in the regards to the assistance they provided. “We would really like to identify these people and speak with them about the circumstances of what happened, and also to thank them for their efforts. “If this was you, or you know who this family is, Police would like to hear from you.” Anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information has been urged to contact police on 105 and quote file number 260329/1337.
