MANILA, Philippines — Holy Week began on Palm Sunday, March 29, with a silent yet deeply moving display of devotion in Cardona, Rizal, as residents carried religious images depicting the Passion and death of Jesus Christ through the streets. Delicately kept in homes throughout the year, the images are brought out and paraded one by one, lining the streets leading to the plaza.
