MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will hold weekly meetings with manufacturers and retailers to extend their commitment not to raise the prices of basic commodities even after mid-April, according to Malacañang. In a briefing on Tuesday, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said DTI Secretary Cristina Roque informed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of private companies’ assurance that they would not implement price hikes on basic goods until April 16.
